Artistic endeavour is not something you expect to see in a prison. The cell walls, doors and exercise yard walls of Fremantle Prison are covered with works of art painted by prisoners over the 136 years of the Prison’s history.

Join our experienced Guides on this exclusive tour as they reveal the experiences of prisoners expressed through art. View convict-drawn frescoes and religious works, European landscapes, Aboriginal landscapes in the renowned Carrolup style, dot paintings, graffiti and tattoo art.

Participants aged 18+ will receive a complimentary copy of 'Art Behind Bars: Murals and Graffiti of Fremantle Prison' (R.R.P $10.00) inclusive of ticket price.

Some artwork on this tour contains graphic images and text which could be offensive to some people. This tour is not recommended for people who are offended easily.
