Fremantle Prison holds a diverse collection of approximately 20,000 historic objects. The collection spans the operational life of the Prison from 1850 through to 1991 and has international cultural heritage significance due to its association with Fremantle Prison and Western Australia’s history.

Fremantle Prison’s curatorial team will take you behind the scenes into the workspaces of the Prison’s museum collection, discussing how cultural objects are cared for at Perth’s only World Heritage site. You will learn how objects are cleaned and catalogued and then explore some of the Collection’s hidden treasures in the Collection storage areas.
